About the author:

I am a mechanical engineer studying for his PhD degree. Photography is my hobby and one which I enjoy very much. I am certainly not a professional photographer, nor do I aim to be one. The pictures I take will certainly be laughed at by pros.

Many photographers have sites where they explain the need for the most elaborate techniques and the most expensive equipment to get the best results. All this advice is great if you are a professional, unfortunately it does not apply uniformly all the way down to beginners. As you go from professional photographer down to point and shooter the priorities change.

Since photography is my hobby, my priorities also reflect that:

Photography should be: Simple, Practical, Affordable and FUN!

Over the years I have learned a few simple lessons about photography. Most of these things are so simple, I think anyone with a camera and half a brain could make use of them to take better pictures.

This website therefore exists to help anyone with a camera take better pictures, but from the point of view of a beginner.

The aim is to keep things as simple and practical as possible.

I hope you find my writing to be useful to take better pictures, and more importantly to have more fun taking them.

Bye!
